I would imagine it was something other then the moo-cow's milk. I accept never had ane die from cow'due south milk and if yous research the forum many deer farmers are actually feeding their fawns but that with cracking success.

Mine are all bang-up (knock on wood)

Non one problem with a bottle feed fawn this year.

My first was built-in May 13th and they are all on straight red cap cows milk.

angelclips I assure y'all information technology won't die from the cows milk ......if that were the case mine would exist expressionless a long time ago....i'yard feeding lets just say many fawns and they are drinking the cows milk everyday and are happy and good for you......so you have no reason to be concerned.

Just to make sure, is the milk pasteurized homogenized milk?

Many deer farmers are using whole red cap milk. The milk you buy in the store. It is the i with the red cap which indicates whole milk and has been homogenized.

Well, that's skillful to know. I hate to sound dumb but I've but been doing this for 2 weeks. I was informed by other fellow member of our rehab grouping that they've never had a fawn to live that has injested cow's milk. The first one I had two weeks ago passed away and after 12 days and they said it was because it had moo-cow's milk. I simply refused to believe that there wasn't something that couldn't be done. Now I'm glad I found this forum. We must have another problem. Thanks for the assistance.

Milk can come from somewhere besides the store? I never would have imagined that. Mitch, that'south my blonde impersonation! I take fed fawns cow'southward milk, goat's milk, sheep milk, canned "bitches" milk, canned true cat formula, carnation powdered milk, evaporated milk, calf replacer, lamb replacer, doe replacer......heck, I don't think there is any kind of milk (that is not spoiled) that would impale a fawn. I havent tried craven milk yet.

angelclips--just make certain if y'all continue using the crimson cap milk you let the fawn drinkable all it wants. If you don't it will starve. That is what might have happened to the other one. The fawn needs to drink as much equally information technology wants too. You will know when it is done. My fawns potable anywere from 8 to 22 ozs per feeding. I feed 3 times a day correct now.
